Menopause: An Insultingly Quick Summary
"Meg I need to know what Menopause is like yesterday, do a post!"
Ok - here we go an insultingly quick, insensitive blog post on Menopause.
Menopause is a natural part of ageing that every woman will go through. But despite its universality, it’s still shrouded in confusion. Let’s clear that up with a straightforward blunt summary.
Menopause typically occurs between ~42-55 years of age, marking the end of a woman’s menstrual cycles. Symptoms vary but can include hot flashes, mood changes, and sleep disturbances (many many more!). It’s caused by a decline in oestrogen and progesterone levels.
While it’s a natural transition, support is available—from hormone replacement therapy to lifestyle changes like exercise and diet. Understanding it can make the process much less daunting. With no surprise I talk about it all the time because diet and exercise together are proven to reduce symptoms of menopause.
To summaries menopause is a natural phase of life. With the right knowledge and support, women can navigate it with confidence and ease.
You WILL know, live with or talk with someone affected.. (effected I never know what's right here do correct me) by menopause so it's important to be patience, kind and understanding all of the time.
For a more detailed and far more interesting understanding of menopause - head to our digital course section. We have a great course on understanding menopause (aimed at workplaces) but good for family members to complete too!
Any more questions, you just let me know and I'll ramble away on them!
